Mental health training & Group treatment programs

Suicide Prevention Training

You can currently get involved in suicide prevention training by clicking on the search program button to see when Operation Life: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) are running. In addition, there are regularly scheduled programs for Safetalk and Mental Health First Aid which you can enrol in.

In addition, Open Arms has also been given an $4 million dollars to partner with RSL's and major Ex-Service Organisations (ESO) to provide training for their volunteers.

If you are an ESO that would like to get involved with this training please contact OpenArms.Coord [at] dva.gov.au

Group Program

Group programs generally involve a small group of veterans led by 1-2 experienced facilitators, with an extensive understanding of veteran issues, and are focussed on improving your general mental health and wellbeing.

Open Arms programs can teach you about managing issues such as anger, anxiety and pain. Search the full list of programs below to find out what’s available in your area or call 1800 011 046 to speak with an Open Arms counsellor about finding the right program for you.
